Chiquita was born and raised between the Hampton Roads area and Corpus Christi, Tx. As the child of a military parent she was exposed  to many environments and cultures within the mental health relm. Chiquita’s educational background includes a Bachelors in Science and Nursing from Norwalk University in 2009, a Masters of Science with a focus of education in 2015 from Walden University, and an M.S in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Virginia Commonwealth University.


With over 12 years of nursing experience in the inpatient and outpatient psychiatry setting, community stabilization (formerly crisis), Chiquita believes that these experiences, both as a child and an adult, are what prepared her for her current role as a PMHNP. As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Chiquita has a background in performing community stabilization and intensive outpatient medication evaluations as well as intensive in-home and mental health skill building psychiatric evaluations.


She also provides brief supportive therapy as well as manages and prescribes medications. Chiquita enjoys working with a diverse group of people and disorders, including PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Psychosis, Bipolar illness, ADHD and other mood disorders. Chiquita stresses the importance of holistic care while promoting physical, mental, and emotional health.
